How to wash your ski pants correctly

After a long and eventful ski season, it sometimes doesn't hurt to wash your ski pants through again. However, the less often they are washed, the better, because the membrane clothing should remain dirt- and water-repellent for as long as possible. Subsequent impregnation is obligatory, at least after every second or third wash.

We show you how to properly wash and impregnate outdoor clothing such as ski trousers.

Basically, you should take a look at the label of the ski pants before washing them and follow the care instructions. The detergent also plays an important role here. For most functional fabrics, a commercially available detergent is rather unsuitable because residues can settle in the membranes and impair their function. The same applies to fabric softeners.

You can buy special detergents from specialist shops, e.g. from the company Nikwax or Fibertec, which preserve the original impregnation of functional clothing. These special detergents also ensure that no detergent residues are deposited on the fibres, which would negatively affect reimpregnation.

Drying and ironing ski trousers at the same time can be done very gently with the trouser attachment of the TUBIE shirt ironing machine, because the TUBIE ironing dummy only works with warm air of approx. 50 degrees Celsius and is therefore harmless for all garments. In addition, quick drying and ironing of the ski pants, e.g. on the TUBIE ironing machine, prevents unpleasant odours that can arise from drying too slowly.

To ensure that the ski pants remain dirt- and water-repellent after washing, you should impregnate them afterwards with an impregnating spray. You can get this in any shoe shop, for example.

The TUBIE Ironing Doll team wishes you lots of fun on the slopes.
